Global option in Peachtree

Global option in Peachtree:
·       First  open the home page of Peachtree accounting software

·       Then go to “Options” and select “Global” option
A dialogue box will appear.

In this Tab there are four options:
1.     Accounting
2.     General
3.     Peachtree Partners
4.     Spelling

When we select the accounting option the following options will appear Decimal entry:
a.     Automatic option will automatically put decimals in the figures
b.     In Manual options you have to put decimal by yourself

Hide general ledger accounts:


By checking this options it will hide the
a.     Account payable
b.     Account receivable
c.      Payroll

Other options:
By checking this options you can
a.     Warn to record your unsaved record
b.     Will hide inactive records
c.      Recalculations
d.     Uses accounting links

Next tab is of General:


·        You can improve performance by checking or unchecking options of
Do not print full length header
Do not shows inventory items
·        you can  select your desired “line item display”
·        Smart data entry will help you to “Automatic field completion” and “Drop down list display” like of vendors, inventory or customers etc.

·        You can change colors by selecting your desired theme

Default information about customer:

If you want to make changes in your customer account then open the Peachtree  and select the maintain option on the upper left side and click the default information and select the customers option.
After selecting the customer’s option the following window will appear.
On the above mentioned window there are 5 tabs
·         Payment terms
·        Account Aging
·        CUSTOMER FIELD 
·        FINANCE CHARGES
·         pay method


1.Payment terms:
In this tab 5 options are available first is C.O.D which means cash on delivery, the second option is of prepaid which means collecting cash before delivery. In third option Due in number of days the other options are available and you can make the adjustment which you want. In 4th option Due on day of next month again other options are accessible and you can also make the essential adjustment. And in the last option due at the end of month means discount id available.
And at the end there are two options General ledger sales account are exist.  you put the specified “account  id” in that box if there is no account exist in the charts of account, you can make that account by double clicking on that bar

 Account Aging

 Account Aging:
By selecting this option following window will appear on your computer screen.

In this option we do the forecasting of our bad debts and we can see this tab is further divided into 2 options: “Age Invoice by and Aging Categories”
In age invoices by the invoice date is showing that we will set the date to when the invoice is generated. And by selecting due date we are setting the time when our invoice date will be expired.
The Aging Categories portion is the one where we categorize the time periods.

3.       Custom Fields:

In this tab we can change the customer information in which we can put in customer prospectus.In these boxes you can put the data of his/her representative, mailing list, reference and multiple sites.  

4.FINANCE CHARGES

This tab can be used to charge our customers with extra amount that they have delayed the payment of goods. To activate this tab 1st you will click on the check box. All the information regarding the charges will be explained here. If you want to print the statement of charges then it can also be displayed on the invoice.


5.Pay method:

Simply mention the payment method and select the appropriate method, you can add 10 methods of payments that is acceptable in your business.

How to Maintain Customer perspective

In Peachtree software you are also having a option of adding customer important information for this simply open the existing company and go to the maintain option which is on the top left side of the window and select the customer perspective option.


When you click this customer perspective option the window of maintain customer perspective will appear. The upper portion of this window is known as HEADER FIELD. In HEADER FIELD  the option of close, save, del,  change id, new, event, log, help, customer id, name, inactive and prospect are included.





On this window you will also see the different tabs which are known as TAB AREA. In TAB AREA the options of general, sales default, payment default, custom field and history are included.






Now below is given the whole window in order to fill it for our customer detail.




In the above mentioned window the first requirement is Customer ID, in this option you will write the customer id that you granted to the different customers. Then on the second option write the customer name and save this info.



1.       General:
In general you will see the different options like contact, address and so on.




As you can see that in that bill to address option we have some more info as well like ship to address 1,2, 3 and so on. In bill to address we send our invoice and in ship to address is the place where we deliver the goods.
In column of address:
In this column you have to write the customer’s address.
city ST Zip
Just write the zip code of the customer which is according to the area of the customer.
Country:
Write the name of the country from where the customer belongs.
Sales tax:
This option is not applicable in Pakistan.
Customer Type:
As you have already saved the customer in excel sheet here you get the save as you saved.
In telephone numbers you will provide the contact no of specific customer. And then you can also mention your customers email, fax and website.

2.    Sales Default:



·         In sales rep:
                             Write the name of agent of the person who is involved in sales.
·         Then in next option you will add the sales subsidiary ledger account.






Then as you can see the above mentioned window in which the option of PO is clicked so this po is the purchase order in which you can select any account if made by you from this list.





If you are in Pakistan then the option of ship Via is not applicable here. in option of resale we have those goods which directly sent to the manufacturer from company online stores are not involved in it.





In above window as the option of price level is given so in his case we are provided 10 options to add price as we have more than 1 customer and we are charging different price levels from them. Below this price level option next is of terms in which if any conditions are made by them would be mentioned. At the right side of this window some of the delivery options will be filled.

3.      Payment Default:
·         In this window write the
·         Cardholder name
·         His name address
·         City country name
·         Credit card number
·         Expiry date







4. Custom Fields:
In this window you can see that we have four options to fill them and we can also add the 5th option according to our necessities. If any information is failed to spot by you in 1st general option you can point out it here.

5. History: When you click the history option you will see the different options of history payments, payment amounts, invoice date and last statement date
